About
Payments the way Nigeria already pays.
Most payments in Nigeria are bank transfers. Pletopay turns them into something a business can build on: an account number for every payment, a confirmed status, and a record that matches the bank’s.
What we believe
- Bank transfers only
- No cards, no wallets, no direct debit. One payment method, done properly: exact amounts, bank-confirmed status and clear fees.
- Confirmed means confirmed
- A payment is succeeded only when the bank’s records show the money arrived. We check those records ourselves.
- Say what is available
- What works now, what has conditions, and what we do not do yet. No promises on timing that the bank does not make.
How Pletopay works
Plainly, including the parts that are not ours.
- A partner bank holds the money
- Account numbers, transfers and payouts run through a partner bank. Pletopay provides the platform, the matching and the tools around them.
- Businesses are verified before going live
- Every business completes verification before taking live payments. Test mode is open from the first minute.
- Every kobo is accounted for
- Payments, fees, refunds and settlements are recorded in a double-entry ledger and reconciled against the bank.
